RED OS is developed entirely within RED SOFT’s protected internal infrastructure, with all source code and software packages stored in a dedicated internal repository.

It is a compound software product that is based on the RPM package format and adheres to POSIX and LSB 4.1 (Linux Standard Base) standards.

Its security architecture includes integrated tools from RED SOFT’s trusted partners, incident detection and response systems, a built-in vulnerability scanner and secure development utilities.

Users can choose from several flexible and customizable desktop environments, including three modern graphical interfaces with intuitive panel layouts.

The system supports familiar layout options (e.g. work environments similar to Windows or MacOS), light and dark themes and offers accessibility options, such as high-contrast themes, a screen reader, magnifier, and on-screen keyboard.

From version RED OS 8, featuring the MATE desktop environment, a kiosk mode has been introduced, allowing IT administrators to manage what applications are available to the corporate user.

Based on the AOSP project, RED OS M runs standard mobile apps without emulation. APKs for Android and RPM packages for Linux are both supported.

The 2-in-1 feature lets users switch to a full desktop experience with keyboard and mouse at any time, offering new levels of mobile productivity while maintaining security.

RED OS M does not need a connection to Google cloud services.

Time synchronization is handled through Russian-based servers, and geolocation works via A-GLONASS, without data being shared with western services.

Additional integrated security features prevent unauthorized access to data and system components. The platform supports any app stores, including RuStore.

All components are built and compiled on RED SOFT’s internal infrastructure and support robust cryptographic protection.

RED Virtualization is a mature, enterprise-grade solution featuring disaster recovery, fault tolerance, and high availability functions. RED SOFT’s proprietary tools enable custom migration policies for virtual machines and disks. The platform supports a wide array of local and distributed storage systems.

RED Virtualization delivers a user-friendly graphical UI. The platform facilitates the creation of virtual networks, and integrates them seamlessly within the physical infrastructure. It supports multiple directory services such as Active Directory, Samba DC, and FreeIPA.

Regular updates, proactive vulnerability monitoring, and frequent security fixes ensure RED Virtualization remains stable, reliable and free from critical issues.

In addition, the platform supports high availability and disaster recovery functions, providing comprehensive protection — whether full or selective — for virtual environments.

RED Database is engineered for heavy workloads, offering robust support for clustered environments and optimized storage and processing of Big Data.

Leveraging multi-threaded architecture and zero-downtime recovery, RED Database serves as a dependable foundation for complex IT-systems, which is proven by its use in a number of large-scale and complex projects.

It includes mechanisms for efficient data clean-up and automatic update conflict resolution. Features include snapshots, multi-level incremental backups and recovery, and real-time metadata updates. RED Database also accommodates all common backup and disaster recovery methods.

Fully transparent to applications, the DBMS allows complete utilization of its capabilities.  RED Database incorporates integrated access controls and advanced security features. High-availability cluster configurations are supported with redundancy built in at every layer.

To streamline database management, we’ve developed RED Expert — a cross-platform GUI tool that provides comprehensive, out-of-the-box support for both RED Database and Firebird.

Our RED Monitor tool offers a clear, visual overview of database performance, enabling administrators to spot bottlenecks and problems.

RED ADM provides a centralized approach to managing the corporate IT-infrastructure in mixed Linux and Windows environments.

The solution is comprised of several subsystems that include tools for creating, migrating, and controlling infrastructures at scale, with web-based management on a unified platform.

A built-in replication mechanism ensures continued RED ADM operation in case of component failures.

System communication is handled via REST API encrypted channels, and the platform offers complete control over domain objects including the use of automated inventory tools.

RED Gateway interacts with the client’s information systems via various integration tools, including SOAP, API, or file exchange.

We also provide pre-built integration tools for seamless data exchange with major government systems. As of 2025 we’re providing support for over 50 platforms and services.
